Who we are

Kill My Idea (killmyidea.biz), including its MCP server at https://killmyidea.biz/api/mcp, is run by Stefano Monteduro, an individual based in Italy, who is the data controller for the personal data described on this page. For anything privacy related, write to [email protected].

What we collect and why

1. The ideas you submit

When you judge an idea, on the website or through the MCP server, its text and the goal you picked (making money, open source or just for fun) are sent to TypeSafe AI, whose Jev classifier answers the questions it is scored on. Nothing else about you is sent with it.

Unless you opt out, we archive the idea text with its result: the score, the verdict, the eight sub-scores, the category, the goal, where it came from (website or MCP), when it was judged and technical details of the scoring (model, token counts, response time and the classifier's raw answer). We don't store your IP address, an account, a device identifier or anything else that points to you.

To opt out: on the website, tick Don't archive this evaluation for product analysis. Through the MCP server, set do_not_archive to true, or ask your assistant to keep the idea confidential. The idea is then scored and not stored.

  • Why: to measure and improve the scoring, and to publish aggregate numbers on /stats/.
  • Legal basis: our legitimate interest in running and improving Kill My Idea (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR), with the opt-out above.
  • How long: archived ideas are kept while Kill My Idea runs, because they show how the scoring changes over time. You can ask us to delete one at any time (see your rights).

We don't publish the text of archived ideas: only aggregate counts appear on the site and in the MCP server's get_stats tool. Please don't put personal data, such as names or email addresses, or anything you are not allowed to share in an idea. If an idea is confidential, opt out of the archive.

2. MCP server requests

For each request to the MCP server we log the time, the method, the tool name, the client name and version as your client reports them, its user agent, the protocol version, whether the request succeeded and how long it took. We don't log your IP address or the tool arguments, so these logs never contain the idea.

  • Why: to know which clients use the server, to spot errors, and for the usage numbers on /stats/, where only known client names are shown.
  • Legal basis: our legitimate interest in running a reliable service (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR).
  • How long: while Kill My Idea runs.

If you use Kill My Idea through an AI assistant such as Claude, ChatGPT or Cursor, your conversation is handled by that assistant's provider under its own privacy policy. We only receive what the assistant sends to the tool.

3. Your private history (in your browser only)

If you tick Save my idea to my private history, the idea and its result are saved in your browser's local storage, up to the last 100 ideas. They are never sent to us. Delete one idea or the whole history from the history drawer, or by clearing your browser's site data.

4. Analytics

We use DataFast in cookieless mode to see how the site is used: pages visited, where visitors come from, device and browser type and approximate country. When you submit an idea it records one event with the idea's length, the goal and whether you chose to save or archive it, never the text. Visitors are counted with a pseudonymous identifier made from the IP address, browser user agent, our domain and a salt that changes every 24 hours, so visits on different days aren't linked to one profile.

  • Legal basis: our legitimate interest in understanding and improving the site (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR).

5. Hosting and security

The site sits behind Cloudflare and runs on a server we manage. Both process technical data such as your IP address and request details to deliver the pages and the API and to protect them from abuse. Server logs are rotated regularly and are not used to profile visitors.

  • Legal basis: our legitimate interest in a working, secure service (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR).

6. Email

If you write to us, we use your email address and message only to reply, and delete them when the conversation is over unless we need to keep them to handle a legal request.

Cookies and browser storage

We don't set cookies. We use your browser's local storage only for your private history, if you turn it on, and for a one-time marker used when your history moved from the old address killmyidea.stemonte.io. Session storage is used only during that move. DataFast may use session storage for the current tab, which is cleared when you close it.

Who we share data with

We never sell your data. We use these providers to run Kill My Idea:

  • TypeSafe AI (typesafe.ai): scores the idea text with its Jev classifier.
  • Cloudflare, Inc. (USA): DNS, delivery and protection of the site, and forwarding of email sent to [email protected].
  • JustShipIt Pte. Ltd., trading as DataFast (Singapore, with infrastructure that includes the USA): analytics.
  • Our server hosting provider: runs the site, the API and the archive.

If you share a result on X, the post is yours and is covered by X's privacy policy. The share image is created in your browser.

Transfers outside the EU

Some providers process data outside the European Economic Area, for example in the USA or Singapore. These transfers rely on the safeguards in the providers' data processing terms, such as the EU–US Data Privacy Framework or the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses.

Your rights

Under the GDPR you can ask to access, correct or delete your data, restrict or object to how we use it, and get a copy in a portable format. Write to [email protected] and we'll reply within one month.

Archived ideas carry no identifier, so we can't tell which ones are yours. To have an idea deleted, send us its text, or a distinctive part of it, and roughly when you submitted it.

You can also lodge a complaint with a data protection authority: in Italy, the Garante per la protezione dei dati personali, or the authority where you live.

Kids

Kill My Idea is not meant for anyone under 16, and we don't knowingly collect their data.

Changes

If this policy changes, we'll update this page and the date at the top. See also the terms of service.
